A MUST READ ARTICLE FOR THOSE CONCERNED ABOUT THE EPHRAIMITE ISSUE

Recently on the website MYSTAGOGY (The Weblog of John Sanidopoulos) an article was posted entitled “Healthy and Sick Monasticism”. It is a translation of an essay that was recently written by His Eminence Metropolitan Hierotheos of Nafpaktos. For those who may not know Metropolitan Hierotheos, he is considered one of the “Great” Hierarchs by those who adhere to the strict fundamentalist “theology” of Elder Ephraim. Elder Ephraim’s followers revere this Hierarch. They hold him in high esteem because of the shared beliefs such as the existence of Aerial Tollhouses and a disdain for the benefits of modern psychiatry. So it was with great and utter shock when it was announced that Metropolitan Hierotheos broke off communion from one of his local monasteries, the well-known Monastery of the Holy Transfiguration in Nafpaktos. This Metropolitan, facing great pressure chose to “protect the inheritance” and place the health and well-being of his Laity ahead of the agenda of this Monastery. When you read this thoughtful article all the way through, you see so many similarities in the problems facing this Metropolitan and his Hierarchical brethren here in North America . The greatest difference is that Metropolitan Hierotheos acted! In this Hierarch’s thoughtful essay you will read and understand the components of “Sick Monasticism” and should understand how this type of “operation” affects the body of the Church. Once a poison is unleashed into the body it is only a matter of time before it weakens the body to the point of killing it. The Editors of this site respectfully suggest that you click on the following link and read this article in its entirety: http://www.johnsanidopoulos.com/2013/01/healthy-and-sick-monasticism.html We would personally like to thank Mr. Sanidopoulos for the time and effort he makes in translating this and other information and thus helping to elevate the understanding of our true and undefiled Faith. If you have the time, please consider reading the exchange on the FaceBook page about this essay of Metropolitan Savas of Pittsburgh. The Metropolitan of Pittsburgh posted this essay on January 24, 2013. It caused a great deal of dialogue, some of which was circular and unintelligible. There were comments made that illustrate the confusion that is intentionally perpetrated upon those who do not adhere to the Ephraimite “theology”. When we last checked, it contained various postings that are only meant to deflect attention from the real issues generated by the Ephraimite movement. The GoTruthReform Editors
