WHAT IS GOING ON?
“Civil War Has Broken Out in the Church of Greece”
The following email was sent to one of our contributing editors from a Priest of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese. This Priest is one of many from around the country who is gravely concerned about the condition of the Church. We believe that his email and the article are both worth reading. His concerns are valid and reflect a common theme of issues that gave birth to this website. Why, at this point in time, are the Fundamentalists of our Faith going to war and being insubordinate to our Hierarchs? Ultimately, someone in a position of authority will have to address this highly orchestrated precise movement, which appears to be on a collision course with the main line Greek Orthodox Church. It is not mere coincidence that His All Holiness and the other Primates of all Orthodox jurisdictions are under attack by the most extreme element of the seemingly faithful. These are historic times for the Orthodox Church; who will step up and meet the challenge?

Members of our faith should go to the Mystagogy web site and read the following article,

Extremists are dividing the Church of Greece. This will eventually happen here in the U.S. since some of the Ephraimites have the same attitudes and agenda as those extremists in Greece. This will become the ultimate division. I am sure they have been working toward this end although they have been outed with their radical teachings and judgmental attitude toward the hierarchy and fellow clergy. Therefore I believe their goal to divide may have been delayed somewhat because of what is occurring within the Archdiocese. I know this sounds preposterous but who would have believed the church in America would have been in the position it finds itself today. Everything that has transpired in the Church has been a part of a planned process that has been initiated by not only some Greek American monastic and married clergy but also some immigrant monastic and married clergy from Greece. Our Church leaders are either blind to the process taking place or they are a part of this grand conspiracy. I hope they are just blind because if that is the case we can lift the scales from their eyes and allow them through all of our efforts to see. We need Hierarchs to stand up for the Faith and not be concerned with the criticism they will receive from laity or clergy. The criticism will be severe since many don’t understand.
I am just rambling and we know much of this already but this article stirred some emotion in me. The Church is a mess and people are leaving everyday.
